Muffin and the One-Year Anniversary

It was a year ago today, on Thanksgiving 2007, that we went out looking for a kitten, any kitten, and returned with Muffin, our beloved first bobtail. As you know if you follow this blog, we enjoy him so much! In honor of his arrival, we have begun a new tradition here. We have added muffins (blueberry) to the breakfast menu for every Thanksgiving. Seems appropriate!

And of course I need to add a post on this most auspicious day, Muffin-wise.

It's been cold here at night and we were concerned about our large and very old dog, who usually sleeps in a den-like structure we built for him on the screen porch. It's covered and insulated and normally just fine, but not when the temps are going into the 20's. So we decided to set up a temporary bed for him in the living room one night. I pulled out a fluffy down comforter and put it on the floor for him. As you can imagine, it was not vacant for long. Both bobs had to investigate.



Muffin made himself particularly comfortable.



It's hard to believe that a year and a day ago we did not know our Muffles. He is sitting on the desk next to the monitor as I type this, looking his perfect self.
